If your computer is slow to boot or your applications are slow to open you may have spyware running in the background and not even know it. Most computers after a period of time collect unwanted programs that install without your knowledge.

If you have ever downloaded any screen savers, toolbars, wallpapers, desktops or just about any other application spyware can come bundled in the application and install on your computer without you knowing it. Most computers after a while will become very slow to boot or applications take forever to load your mouse may become jerky or non responsive.

The surprising thing is that most people never scanned their computer for spyware or adaware until they have a problem. Regular scans should be part of your computer maintenance routine. Windows defender and other virus programs cannot remove spyware. You will need a third-party application to do the job. Your safe using any of the top spyware removers.

While there are a lots of free scanner/cleaners you can download most of them don’t do a complete job. If you have ever tried one of the free cleaners you’ll notice it does not eliminate everything. After using three different so-called free applications to clean my computer I learned it is better to invest in a professional program. Your computer will be safer and run smoother. Plus you will have access to tech support and lifetime updates.

The first time you run a scan on your computer you may be shocked. You will wonder how your computer ran at all. The good news is after your computer is clean and rebooted you will notice a vast improvement in speed and performance. You will also want to update and run your antivirus program to make sure your computer is clean from any viruses. Removing unused icons from your desktop may also speed up your computer. If you haven’t already done so you want to preform a cleanup on your hard drive. Do you have tons of icons in your start menu or taskbar? You will also want to remove the ones you’re not using a daily basis they use memory and other resources.

If your computer is still running slow or applications are very slow to open and you have performed the above tasks you may need to upgrade your memory. But without a doubt spyware applications are the biggest factor for slowing down a computer. They run in the background without knowing it, using up most of your physical and virtual memory.
